LET'S TAKE A MOMENT

Moment #1

The first moment I experienced in our class was the Wordle. The Wordle allowed me to explore my writing process. It allowed me to make my odd writing style tangible--free-flowing thoughts funneled down into some sort of finished product.

Writing is at the bottom and above it, everything else is under thoughts. My thoughts are like a cloud looming over me and then transferred to written words.

Moment #2

Once I learned where and how my writing came about, we explored reflection. This was particularly interesting to me because, I found that the reflection process was all-encompassing, that is, we are constantly reflecting on what we write. We plan, we write, we review--all the while we are thinking: What am I going to write? Does it make sense and is it cohesive? Have I addressed the topic at hand?

Moment #3

For me, thus far, writing the newsletter has been the most fun and informative assignment I have created. I enjoyed writing in a format that would be engaging to an audience of my peers, so I had to shape the message I was trying to convey in order to make it sound less like something that makes you want to sleep and more like something you don't want to put down and read over again. I not only learned to shape my message for my target audience, but I further expanded my knowledge of genre in the sense that genre comes about as a response to "x" situation--much like the rhetorical situation
