Let's have a moment

Moment#1 (bring the best out of my mind. More open to public. Communicate with others)
First of all, this is a writing course. Therefore, my first reflection would be about the focus of this class. is around writing. First we opened the class with the introducing ourselves. Honestly, my I was really scare at first. However, with this exercise, I have more confidence about this class. Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t have a confident with my own writing. Once the class goes on, I gained more confidence in my writing and believe in my own ability to write. For the course’s construct, throughout the course, we have been introduced to many key terms. Everything involved around rhetorical situation. This is an argument class. It makes sense that rhetoric is apart of all class assignments. My development, I believe, as a writer big part of it was came from rhetorical situation. This is not only a “moment,” I think this will build up my foundation as a writer through out my college careers and will play an important part of my future careers.
Moment#2 (Blog post is the best way to communicate with others, it helps me think of an argument.)
Blog post is a great way to experience with the different field of reading. Gaining understand throughout the reading is not enough, blog post is a another way to explore your own understanding. Throughout my blog post, I have read other’s idea that help me understanding the materials. Sometime, reading for another students is a better way to learn because we are in the same “learning stage.” I also help that my blog post is help another students to gain a better understanding. Another moment that I really like about blog is that “we all have the difference ideas on how things should be.” Not all students tend to have the same approach or having difference influences. It is fun to see others’ idea and try to defends myself, or pause myself for a moment to actually think about the topics for awhile. Every idea is unique, it also show the background knowledge of every writers.

Moment#3 (I love drawing)
This is my favorite moment so far in the class. What drawing shown to me is that everyone’s inner. Since ancient time, we communicate with pictures. The drawing is the beginning of writing characters and the development of the writing process. Therefore, people can actually communicate throughout the picture. I’m bad at art. However, I do enjoy drawing (only in this class.) I love the approach and the view of other student’s perspective. What I’ve learn from the drawing activity is that one picture can be descript in million words. Most importantly, taking time off from the stressful day is always good for a student. It rests my mind

  1. Petey, I'm with you on growing after learning about Rhetorical Situation; the same thing happened for me.Food insight about the blog posts too. I never thought about the combined writing information and styles that are created by blogging and reading each other's blogs. I also really like your connection between our drawings and ancient drawings. It really is the most primitive form of communication and that's exactly what we're learning: communication.

  2. I think your main point is really important. Being open, and willing to share your ideas with others can be really important. I know that it's something I still struggle with myself. It's very hard to open up, and tell people not just about your successes, but also your failures and problems. And doing that will make you a better person. I also like that you enjoyed the blog posts so much. For me personally, they often feel like a bit of a chore, but if you enjoy communicating that way, then so much the better. I find that I can better convey my ideas when speaking.

  3. I really like how you say that rhetorical situation wasn't just a moment; it is a foundation for all your writing and in your future as a writer. Very nicely put. Also, I didn't really think of the blogs as a moment but you're right. Reading another student's work actually helps a lot because it helps us see examples and give us motivation and ideas for ourselves. I really like reading blogs of the other students because it helps me see another viewpoint on the topic and really help better understand the material. I also agree with the whole drawing thing. I love drawing...especially in this class! It lets us take a break from all the writing and just free our minds in a way but still learn so much.

  4. I love your first moment because it is not moment, it is what the writing class means for you and I admit that I feel the same benefit. The way we introduce ourselves during the first class and all the different ways to learn that we use in this class have contributed to enhances my writing skills. Furthermore, the key terms and what we learn about rhetorical situation and argumentation are very useful for me as a writer.
